ISLAMABAD: Thanks to FBR reforms, Pakistan’s Across border trade index improved 31 places and Pakistan rose from 142nd to 111th position. The FBR remained focused on three key areas to facilitate Across border trade.

According to the details, Pakistan’s Across border trade index has seen a remarkable improvement, thanks to FBR reforms, the ranking has improved by 31 notches and Pakistan has moved from 142 to 111th position in the Across border trade index.

The FBR focused on three key areas to facilitate cross-border trade, the statement said, adding that various agencies were merged through the Customs Electronic System, the number of documents required for export and import clearance was reduced and the capacity of Pakistan Customs officers and staff was improved.

The statement said that due to the increase in capacity, active across-border trade is going on, ease of doing business has also improved by 28 places in the 2020 rankings, Pakistan has moved from 136th to 108th position.
