France’s rising ‘superstar’ Gaspard Ulliel, 37, who has a unique reputation around the world for his ‘perfume, fashion, modeling and style’, died after a ski accident.
According to the Associated Press (AP), Gaspard Ulliel’s family and his agency have confirmed that the most popular French actor passed away on January 19 at the age of 37.
The report quoted local authorities in the southeastern French region of Montvalezan as saying that the model and actor, along with other colleagues, were involved in an accident while skating at the popular tourist resort of Larizori Resort.
Authorities say another skater collided with Gaspard Ulliel on January 18 at a tourist spot, possibly due to bad weather, and both fell off the peak.
Authorities say rescue workers arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and that Gaspard Ulliel was airlifted to hospital in a coma, but that the French superstar did not survive and died.
Authorities confirmed that an investigation had been launched into the incident, saying it was not part of a conspiracy, but added that it was possible that Gaspard Ulliel had died due to bad weather.
Gaspard Ulliel started his career as a child artist and started appearing on the screen at the age of 6 and gained fame at an early age.
Gaspard Ulliel was an ambassador and model for several French perfume companies, as well as a well-known face for several major French fashion brands.
Apart from modeling and theater, Gaspard Ulliel also appeared in TV and movies and was to be recognized as the ‘superstar’ of France, soon to be seen in the upcoming Hollywood studio Marvel’s upcoming film ‘Moon Night’.
Gaspard Ulliel gained fame by playing romantic and horror roles in films, including the roles of owners of perfume and fashion brands, as well as the roles of soldiers and operatives of World War I and II.
Fashion, showbiz, and media personalities, including the French president, prime minister, and top government officials, also expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Gaspard Ulliel.
