MUMBAI: An Indian court has rejected a petition filed by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut seeking demolition of illegal structures.

According to Indian media reports, the court rejected the request of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to stop the demolition of illegal structures in the flats of actress Kangana Ranaut.

A Mumbai suburban Dandoshi court last week dismissed a petition filed by the actress, remarking that the actress had merged her three flats on the fifth floor of a 16-storey building in the city’s Khar area.

The judge said that in doing so, they covered the sink area, duct area and common road, which is a serious violation of the approved scheme.

The court ruled that the actress should have obtained the approval of the competent authority before constructing the flat.

It may be recalled that the Burhan Mumbai Municipal Corporation had issued a notice to actress Kangana Ranaut in March 2018 on illegal constructions in her three flats in Khar.
