KARACHI: Anti-encroachment team in Malir demolished Haleem Adil Sheikh’s farmhouse during the operation. More than 200 illegal farmhouses are being demolished. The farmhouses are owned by political, religious leaders, and police officers.

According to details, an anti-encroachment operation was carried out in Malir on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner. The operation is being carried out on 30-year-old canceled lands. Haleem Adil Sheikh’s farmhouse was also demolished during the operation.

More than 200 illegal farmhouses are being demolished in the operation. The farmhouses are owned by political, religious leaders, police officers. On December 11, 2018, all 30-year-old lands in Sindh were revoked.

Government lands were illegally bought and sold through commercial activities.

DC Malir had written letters to all concerned departments including Sindh Rangers, DIG East and SSP Malir, Commander Rangers 62 and 42 Wing, Director Anti Encroachment and other departments.

Anti-Encroachment says that more than 500 acres of government land has been relinquished so far during the operation. The relinquished land is worth billions of rupees. Hundreds of police and other personnel are present during the operation.

The anti-encroachment operation will continue for a week, the SMB said, adding that no one will be allowed to occupy.
