Nawabshah: Incidents of sexual abuse of minors have been on the rise in Sindh, but no concrete steps have been taken to curb this heinous act.

Momina Lark, a seven-year-old girl, was allegedly raped and killed in the Pir Jo Goth area of Khairpur yesterday. The body of a little girl was found in a nail garden.

Another similar incident took place today in Nawabshah district of Sindh province, where a man in the village of Mir Khan Leghari dragged a six-year-old girl into an empty house and allegedly tried to rape her. Residents of the area gathered on the spot while the accused managed to escape.

According to the local police, a case has been registered by the girl’s family in Sakrand police station and a person named Nisar has been named in the case, for which a police team has been formed.

It may be recalled that last year, an eight-month report on child abduction and abuse was released in Sindh, according to which from January to August 2020, there were 93 incidents of child abuse in Sindh.

According to the report, the highest number of 18 cases of child abuse was reported in Khairpur.
