Khyber / Bajaur: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Naseerullah Wazir from South Waziristan has accused the bureaucracy of obstructing the implementation of the integration plan, saying the people of the integrated tribal districts are disappointed with the current system.

Addressing separate press conferences at Bara and Jamrud Press Clubs, Naseerullah Wazir said that the people of the integrated districts have been deprived of the fruits of FATA-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa integration at the behest of the bureaucracy while the government has failed to deliver on its promises to the people of the border areas.

“Instead of bridging the gap between the government and civilians in the tribal districts, the bureaucracy is widening the gap and keeping itself out of the reach of the people,” he added.

In support of Balochistan Awami Party MPA Shafiq Sher in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the MPA minister said that the escalation of armed disputes over land ownership in different areas of the amalgamated districts did not speed up the implementation of the government’s integration plan. Naseerullah Wazir said he, along with a few other lawmakers and educated tribal youth, had begun efforts to put pressure on the government to provide relief to the people of the tribal districts.

He suggested that the government, in consultation with members of the provincial assembly, tribal elders, and members of civil society, enact the required legislation in the provincial assembly to end the current unrest.

MPA Naseerullah Wazir announced the formation of the Tribal Reform Movement to put pressure on the government to implement reforms in the tribal districts.

He made the announcement while addressing a press conference at Bajaur Press Club which was also attended by local PTI workers.

He said that a movement has been formed to pressurize the government for the early implementation of reforms in the tribal districts. He said that he would meet the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other concerned officials to know their views on the early implementation of these reforms.
