LAHORE: Punjab Police has undergone a major reshuffle today, with CCPO Lahore Omar Sheikh being replaced by Khalid Mahmood Dogar as the new CCPO Lahore.
According to details, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar has been appointed as the new CCPO Lahore in place of Umar Sheikh. A notification has also been issued and Umar Sheikh has been posted as Deputy Commandant.
Ghulam Mehmood Dogar was posted at RPO Faisalabad. Earlier, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar had been in charge of DIG operations in Lahore.
Sources said that the Punjab Chief Minister had also taken notice of the rising crime in the city. Omar Sheikh also failed to eradicate the occupation mafia in Lahore, due to which he was replaced.
Sources also said that Omar Sheikh was also accused of misbehaving with his subordinates. On the orders of former CCPO Lahore, 1263 transfers were made in four months.
