Special Assistant to the CM Punjab for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that those who did not wear face masks could be fined and imprisoned for 6 months.

During a press conference in Sialkot, she said that the spread of Coronavirus in Punjab is increasing exponentially, and keeping this in view, it has been made mandatory to wear face masks across the province.

She feared that business activities would increase during Ramadan, which, according to SOPs, would not be an easy task.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that in this regard it was decided that the Punjab government would set priorities and exchange information with the media on the steps to be taken in this regard.

She further said that the final decision regarding the ban on wedding ceremonies during Ramadan in Punjab province would be taken tomorrow.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that inter-provincial traffic increases during the month of Ramadan, so the officials of the Transport Association should formulate a strategy keeping in view the epidemic.

Usman Buzdar’s special assistant said that Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the increase in the price of chicken meat.

“You know which family and the party has the most control shades, so they are raising prices by creating an artificial crisis,” she said.

She accused them of disturbing the balance of supply and demand, which is aimed only at political engineering.

She said that an artificial crisis was being created before Ramadan.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that we are going to set up 313 Suholat Bazaar and Suholat Bazaar Committee is going to be formed to monitor the market.

“We are going to import 200,000 tonnes of sugar,” she said.

Usman Buzdar’s special assistant said that setting the price of wheat at Rs. 2,000 in Sindh has increased the trend of smuggling.

It may be recalled that during the third wave of Coronavirus in Pakistan, the number of cases continues to increase and for the third day in a row, more than 4,000 cases have been reported in the country.

According to the website of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), created for Code 19 statistics, 4,767 new cases were reported in the country in the last 24 hours while 57 more people were killed.

If we talk about Punjab, Punjab province is most affected by the third wave of the virus and during the last 24 hours, 2,823 more people were confirmed with the virus and 39 deaths were reported.

So far, the total number of people infected with the virus in the province has reached 212,918, while 6,229 people have died.
