ISLAMABAD: A shootout between police and dacoits at G-6 in the federal capital Islamabad turned into a drop scene, with four dacoits surrendering.
According to details, a confrontation took place between police officers and dacoits in the G-6/2 area of Islamabad. Four dacoits had entered a house in Melody, which was reported to the police.
According to reports, the house was cordoned off by the police on receiving information, during which there was an exchange of fire between the police and the robbers, after which the four robbers who had taken shelter in the house surrendered.
Islamabad police transferred four arrested dacoits to Aabpara police station where they have been interrogated.
A heavy contingent of SP City, CRT, ATS, and police stations had reached the spot. DIG Operations Waqaruddin Syed had also reached the spot.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, while paying tributes to the police for arresting the dacoits, said that the timely action of the police was commendable. The accused belong to South Punjab and their criminal record is being checked.
The Home Minister said in his statement that no negligence would be tolerated in the protection of life and property of the citizens.
