KARACHI: A distraught woman jumped from a high-rise building to end her life and that of her daughter. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
According to details, a 33-year-old woman, including a two-year-old girl, jumped from a six-storey building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13 D2 of Karachi and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
In this regard, rescue sources said that the condition of the mother and child is very critical. Both of them have broken their legs and have been kept on a ventilator in the hospital.
In this regard, SP Gulshan while tallking to media said that the woman was addicted to drugs and had recently remarried. The family members locked the woman in a room to get rid of the drug.
According to police, the woman and her 2-year-old daughter were also present in the room. The woman first threw her mobile phone from the gallery of the flat after which people gathered under the building.
The woman then threw her two-year-old daughter down, which was grabbed by citizens. The onlookers stopped the woman from jumping, and she fell in an attempt to get down from above. Police say the incident is being further investigated.
