ISLAMABAD: Thirty-six people, including Maulana Sharif, the mastermind involved in an incident of setting fire to the temple in Karak, have been arrested.
According to details, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid in his statement on social networking website Twitter said that 36 people including mastermind Maulana Sharif have been arrested after strict notice of Karak incident, all involved will be dealt with strictly according to law and Punishments will be meted out, it is the government’s responsibility to protect all religious minorities.
Sheikh Rashid said that desecration of holy places of any religion is not allowed for any person, be it from any political or religious party. The incident was actually done to discredit Pakistan.
It may be recalled that an angry mob in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa vandalized and set fire to the Samadhi shrine of a Hindu elder in Terry Town, a remote area of Karak.
Later, Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed took suo motu notice of the incident of setting fire to the temple in Karak and demanded a report on January 4.
