Leading cleric Maulana Tariq Jameel is launching a clothing brand and has released an explanatory video message from his Twitter account.
In a video message, Maulana Tariq Jameel explained the reason for the brand’s foundation, saying, “Since 2000, I have been thinking of Allah making a series so that the madrassas I have can stand on their own two feet.”
He said, “I used to think that if Allah would create such a situation, Zakat would not be spent and the madrassa would run without Zakat.”
Maulana Tariq Jameel said, “When Corona came, Allah put in my heart that we should do some business, the earnings of which we should invest in the madrassas, so my intention was to have a business from which Allah Almighty rewards. A few friends tried it together.
He said, “We intended to launch my brand under the name ‘MTJ’, as it is considered a defect for scholars to do business in our subcontinent, even though there was no greater clothing merchant than Imam Abu Hanifa.”

Explaining, Maulana Tariq Jameel said, “I did not do this with any business intention, I did not do this in competition with anyone, I just did so that Allah may at least make my madrassas stand on their own feet, and it keeps continuing even after I leave this world.”
