ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested PML-N leader Khawaja Asif in a case of disproportionate assets.
According to details, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested PML-N leader Khawaja Asif from Ahsan Iqbal’s house in a case of disproportionate assets. A NAB spokesman confirmed the arrest of Khawaja Asif.
According to sources, the PML-N was to hold a consultative meeting at Ahsan Iqbal’s house after the PPP meeting. He was present at Ahsan Iqbal’s house to attend the PML-N meeting.
According to the NAB spokesperson, Khawaja Asif has been shifted to NAB Rawalpindi, a medical team has been called for his examination.
NAB sources said that Khawaja Asif will be produced in the accountability court tomorrow for transit remand. After transit remand, he will be transferred to the NAB Lahore office.
According to the NAB spokesperson, Khawaja Asif could not give a satisfactory answer to the assets worth Rs.260 million. His arrest was made in the case of assets in excess of income.
It may be recalled that Khawaja Asif is the PML-N’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly and he has also been a former foreign minister.
