PESHAWAR: A covert operation was carried out at two terrorist hideouts in North Waziristan, as a result of which two terrorists were killed and three soldiers were martyred.
According to Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), two terrorists were killed and three soldiers were martyred in an intelligence operation in North Waziristan.
According to ISPR, three soldiers were martyred in the exchange of fire with the terrorists. The martyrs include Areeb Ahmed, a resident of Karak.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesman, the martyrs include Zia-ul-Islam, a soldier from Bannu, and Lance Naik Abbas Khan, a resident of Orakzai.
It may be recalled that terrorists had opened fire on security forces during a covert operation in the Spin Wam area of North Waziristan in November last year, killing four terrorists in retaliation.
ISPR said that 27-year-old soldier Saddam was martyred and two young men were also injured in the firing.
Earlier, on October 20, security forces killed two wanted terrorists during an operation in North Waziristan.
