ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Qatar have reached an important agreement on LNG. Under the agreement, Qatar will supply 3 million tonnes of LNG to Pakistan for 10 years.

According to details, a ceremony of the LNG agreement was held between Pakistan and Qatar. Energy Minister Omar Ayub and Qatar’s Energy Minister signed the agreement. Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present at the signing ceremony.

Pakistan and Qatar LNG Agreement

Under the agreement, Qatar Gas Company will supply 3 million tonnes of LNG to Pakistan for 10 years instead of Qatar Petroleum.

Petroleum Adviser Nadeem Babar said the agreement would usher in a new era of bilateral relations and open up new avenues for economic cooperation. The best LNG deal with Qatar was reached under the leadership of the Prime Minister. There will also be agreements for the procurement of LPG and petrochemicals from Qatar.

On the occasion, Qatar Energy Minister Saadan Inqalabi said that the agreement between Pakistan and Qatar on LNG was historic and further cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit would be promoted.
