ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for Sri Lanka on the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart. During the visit, Imran Khan will hold meetings with the Sri Lankan President and Prime Minister and lead delegation-level talks.

According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for Sri Lanka on a two-day official visit, accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Abdul Razzaq Dawood, and Special Assistant Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari.

The Prime Minister’s Office said that Maran Khan is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Sri Lanka will last for two days. This is Imran Khan’s first visit to Sri Lanka after assuming office.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, during the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet the Sri Lankan President and his counterpart. The meetings will focus on bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and other issues, while memoranda of understanding will be signed between the two countries.

The Prime Minister’s Office further said that the Prime Minister will also attend the Joint Trade and Investment Conference. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have a strong bond of friendship since 1948. The visit will be helpful in promoting relations and cooperation between the two countries.

It may be recalled that the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa had said in his message on the social networking website Twitter that the Prime Minister of Pakistan is ready to welcome Imran Khan and his delegation, the path of joint projects between the two countries. It will be smooth, which will benefit the people of both the countries.
