A statement issued in this regard said that President Dr. Arif Alvi reached Tarlai, a Covid-19 vaccination center in Islamabad to vaccinate Corona, where the President and his wife Samina Arif Alvi were vaccinated against Corona.

Keep in mind that a nationwide corona vaccination campaign is underway.

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) had on March 5 approved the use of the Chinese-made Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine in people over 60 years of age, two months after it was approved.

Federal Ministry of Health spokesman Sajid Shah had confirmed that all medical personnel registered in the National Immunization Management System (NIMS) over the age of 60, including those of the said age, were vaccinated at the vaccine centers after DRAP approval.

It may be recalled that the process of vaccination of the Covid-19 vaccine in Pakistan started last month after the first consignment of vaccine arrived from China.

In the first phase of vaccination, the frontline medical staff was vaccinated, followed by the registration of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other medical staff on February 22.

The second phase of vaccination was scheduled to begin last week after Pakistan received 2.8 million doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine under the COVAX program, in which senior citizens will be vaccinated against corona.
