Colombo: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s arrival in Sri Lanka was warmly welcomed and saluted with cannons. This is Prime Minister Imran Khan’s first visit to Sri Lanka since taking office.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Sri Lanka on a two-day official visit, accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Abdul Razzaq Dawood, and Special Assistant Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari.
On arrival in Colombo, his Sri Lankan counterpart received a red carpet reception for the Prime Minister of Pakistan at the airport. A reception was also held in his honor, in which Imran Khan was saluted with cannons.
At the reception, the national anthems of both the countries were played and the guard of honor was presented to Prime Minister Imran Khan while the Sri Lankan Army troops also saluted the Prime Minister.
Welcome to Colombo Airport on the arrival of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s boards and Pakistani flags were hung on the Colombo Highway.
It is believed that Imran Khan is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Sri Lanka will last for two days. Bilateral cooperation will be discussed in other matters while Memorandums of Understanding will be signed between the two countries on various issues.
The Prime Minister will also attend the Joint Trade and Investment Conference. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have a strong friendship since 1948. The visit will be helpful in promoting relations and cooperation between the two countries.
