ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued notices to the heirs of the slain Shahzeb in the Shahzeb murder case, ordering the counsel for the petitioner to submit the conciliation documents in order.
According to details, the Supreme Court heard the appeals of the accused in the Shahzeb murder case against life imprisonment. A three-member bench headed by Justice Maqbool Baqir heard the case.
Lawyer Shah Rukh Jatoi said that the sentence ends after the agreement between the parties, on which Justice Qazi Amin said to show the agreement between the parties, there is no order in your documents, re-submit the documents in the court with the order.
The court directed the petitioner’s lawyer to submit the documents along with the order and also issued notice to the heirs of the slain Shahzeb on the appeal of Shah Rukh Jatoi.
It may be recalled that Shah Rukh Jatoi, Siraj Talpur, and Ghulam Murtaza have filed appeals against life imprisonment.
It may be recalled that on December 25, 2012, the sister of the slain Shahzeb Khan was mistreated by Shah Rukh Jatoi and his friend Ghulam Murtaza Lashari. However, Shah Rukh Jatoi along with his friends opened fire on Shahzeb’s car and killed him.
Shah Rukh fled to Dubai after the incident. The investigation was slow, the culprit was eventually arrested and the case went to anti-terrorism court.
On June 7, 2013, Shah Rukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur were sentenced to death whereas Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza Lashari were sentenced to captivity.
Later, the Sindh High Court had commuted the death sentence of Shah Rukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur to life imprisonment in the Shahzeb murder case while the life sentence of two accused Sajjad Talpur and Ghulam Murtaza was upheld.
