ISLAMABAD: In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Federal Cabinet has extended the term of Chairman FBR by three months.

According to details, a meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister. The meeting reviewed the economic and internal situation of the country. Several federal ministers participated in the meeting while some federal ministers participated in the meeting through video link.

In the meeting, the Federal Cabinet extended the term of Chairman FBR for three months. Incumbent Chairman FBR Javed Ghani will assume office for another three months.

In addition, the Federal Cabinet approved the appointment of Hydrocarbon Development Institute KDG, also approved the appointment of the Chairman of the State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, and also approved the appointment of Federal Drug Inspectors, the Federal Cabinet said. Besides, the issue of gas load shedding in the country was discussed in detail in the cabinet meeting. Special Assistant Nadeem Babar briefed the Prime Minister and the Cabinet on the latest situation. After the meeting, Federal Minister Shibli Faraz and Special Assistant Nadeem Babar will hold an important press conference.

In today’s meeting, the federal cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between NAB, US agencies, and FBI while postponing the briefing on the use of foreign funds of the Economic Affairs Division. The meeting gave a time frame to the Interior Ministry and CDA to end Margalla Road encroachments. Meanwhile, a summary of FC deployment for three years in Gilgit-Baltistan was approved.
