The journey of the Roshan Digital Account facility provided to overseas Pakistanis is continuing successfully and the number of beneficiaries of this facility is increasing day by day.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan to review the facilities available under Roshan Digital Account in which Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari, Governor State Bank, Waqar Masood, Faisal Javed, and senior officials participated.
Briefing the meeting on further facilities under Roshan Digital Account, it was informed that project facilities have been provided to Pakistanis residing in 97 countries.
So far, 82,728 bright digital accounts have been opened in these countries, with approximately 436 million dollars in remittances and payments under the accounts, while about 600 to 700 accounts are being opened on a daily basis.
Remittances and payments of 6 to 7 million dollars are made daily. Remittances under the account accelerated last month.
The meeting was also briefed on the roadmap for providing more facilities to overseas Pakistanis. On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that innovation should be brought in the provision of bright digital account facilities, Pakistanis living abroad are a valuable asset to the country, the government is committed to providing facilities to overseas Pakistanis.
