New York: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the ceasefire agreement on the Pak-India LOC and said he hoped it would pave the way for further talks between the two countries.
According to details, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the LOC Ceasefire Agreement and said that the agreement between Pakistan and India is a positive step and hoped that the way would be paved for further talks between the two countries.
Antonio Guterres added that the joint statement issued by Pakistan and India on the LoC fire was encouraging.
On the other hand, the President of the UN General Assembly also welcomed the Ceasefire Agreement between Pakistan and India.
Earlier, the United States welcomed the Pak-India LoC Ceasefire Declaration and said that Pak-India, including Kashmir, was in favor of direct talks.
State Department spokesman Ned Price said the United States had called on the two sides to reduce tensions on the Line of Control, and that a return to the 2003 ceasefire agreement was welcome.
It may be recalled that Pakistan and India had agreed not to violate the ceasefire on the LoC and other sectors. The DG ISPR said that the liaison would result in the implementation of the 2003 ceasefire.
