Chinese tech giant Tencent says its mobile phone action game PubG Mobile has crossed the milestone of a total of one billion downloads outside China.
Since then, the online game PubG has become one of the most successful games in the world.
According to the British news agency ‘Reuters’, PubG Mobile is a mobile version of Player in Nun’s BattleGrounds, in which a group of players fights each other until only one player is left.
This online game has been popular since it was launched 3 years ago.
Following the latest figures for PubG Mobile’s downloads, it has now overtaken Kilo Games’ Subway Surfers and King Digital Entertainment’s Candy Crush Saga.
According to data analytics firm Sensor Tower, both games are easy to play and a large number of people like them.
An analyst at Nico Partners said that the one billion downloads of PubG Mobile meant that other games like it could reach the same place.
Tencent, the world’s largest video game company in terms of revenue, has another similar game in China called Peacekeeper Elite.
The announcement comes as Tencent announced that its online games revenue rose 29% in the fourth quarter, leading to an increase in the number of users playing video games in the Chinese and international markets.
According to the company, their two-hit games, Owner of Kings and PubG Mobile, topped the Chinese and international markets in the same quarter, respectively.
