Karachi: Australian fast bowler Aaron Summers has announced to participate in the Pakistan Cup.
According to details, 24-year-old Australian fast bowler Aaron Summers will be the first foreign player to participate in Pakistan’s new domestic cricket structure.
Summers will represent Southern Punjab in the Pakistan Cup starting January 8 in Karachi.
It should be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) allows a foreign player to play in domestic competitions from either side. It has to be done.
Aaron Summers will arrive in Lahore on December 28. He will join the Southern Punjab squad in Karachi on January 5 after a week of training under the supervision of Azhar Mahmood at the National High-Performance Center.
Apart from Erin Summers, Southern Punjab’s contracted coach Azhar Mahmood will also coach 22-year-old Timur Bhatti from Rahim Yar Khan.
Aaron Summers has represented the Hobart Hurricanes in the Karachi Kings and Australia’s Big Bash League in the 2019 HBL Pakistan Super League season. In this way, he had established himself on Australian soil as a fast bowler.
On the other hand, the Australian fast bowler said, “It is a pleasure and an honor for me to be awarded a contract by the Southern Punjab Cricket Association. The team I will play with is playing aggressive cricket and I am interested in that kind of game.” ‘ “I am confident that Southern Punjab will emerge as a strong team in Pakistan’s domestic cricket,” he said.
He said that Pakistan has produced a lot of fast bowlers and he will come here to hone his skills as well as try to lead his team to victory in the Pakistan Cup. This tournament will be played on the basis of the double league. It is also a test of my fitness and quality.
