England leg spinner Jack Leach says he wants to do his best against India, having been away from international cricket for a long time.

According to Indian media, England’s league spinner Jack Leach says that he wants to perform his best during the series against India and is focusing only on his performance.

Leach was part of a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka last month, his first international since nearly a year apart. Leach took 10 wickets against Sri Lanka, but he is still determined to improve his performance.

“I was off the field for a long time before the tour of Sri Lanka but during that time I worked to improve myself and try to be the bowler I want to be,” Leach said.

“The tour of Sri Lanka started well and I think I am going in the right direction,” he said.

Leach added that being a spin bowler, taking wickets in the second innings is always encouraging. I am a player who is never satisfied and I feel the need to improve my game.

“I think India is a strong team and they have recently beaten Australia at home, this is a great opportunity for us to prove ourselves,” he said.
