Christchurch: New Zealand batted brilliantly and set up a mountain of runs against Pakistan. Pakistan needs 354 runs to end New Zealand’s lead with nine wickets remaining.

New Zealand scored a double century and two centuries in the first innings, Kiwi captain Kane Williamson scored a magnificent double century against Pakistan, Henry Knuckles was dismissed for 157, a record of more than 369 for the fourth wicket between the two players. Azhar Ali scored 93, captain Mohammad Rizwan 61, Fahim Ashraf 48 and debutant Zafar Gohar 34 for Pakistan.

It should be noted that the host team has a one-zero lead in the Test series due to which New Zealand has come to the first position in the Test rankings for the first time in history.
