Christchurch: In the second match of the Pak-New Zealand Test series, the national team also weakened. The team was all out for 297 runs. Azhar Ali remained prominent by scoring 93 runs.
When the match started, Pakistan’s first wicket fell on a total of 4 runs and opener Shaun Masood returned to the pavilion without opening any account while Abid scored only 25 runs and Haris Sohail was dismissed for 1 run.
Fawad Alam, who scored a century in the last match, could not stay on the pitch for long and was caught for 83 runs for just two runs, but captain Mohammad Rizwan played a responsible game and added 61 runs to the team’s total. Kia and Jamie Sun were caught on the ball, so five players of the Pakistani team returned to the pavilion for a total of less than 200 runs.
Azhar Ali added 93 runs to the team’s total. Faheem Ashraf scored 48 runs while Zafar Gohar, who made his Test debut against New Zealand, scored 34 runs and was caught out. Shaheen Afridi added 4 runs and Naseem Shah added 12 runs to the team’s total score.
For New Zealand, Kyle Jameson took five wickets, Tim Southee and Trent Bolt two wickets each. Matt Henry also took one wicket.
It should be noted that the host team has a zero lead in the Test series, due to which it has reached the first position in the Test rankings for the first time.
