Former domestic and foreign cricketers and experts have expressed full confidence in Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership in the stunning victory in the Test series against Australia.

In such a situation, the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the permanent captain of the Indian team, has become a question mark. The team has started a new debate on the captaincy of India for the home Test series against England.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has suggested that Anjikarahane should be made captain in place of Virat, while former Indian captain Bishan Singh Bedi has also demanded that the youngster be given the lead.

Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg has expressed concern over the change of captain, saying that if Virat Kohli is removed, the culture of the Indian team will be destroyed.

Virat Kohli has been India’s most successful Test captain. Kohli, who took over the captaincy after Dhoni in 2014, has won 33 of 54 Test matches, while Ajinkya Rahane has led in five Tests so far in which he has not lost a single match.
