China: A female journalist sentenced to four years in prison for reporting on virus outbreak in Wuhan
Zhang Zhan, a Chinese journalist who reported the outbreak of the coronavirus from the Chinese city of Wuhan last year, has been sentenced by Chinese authorities to four years in prison.
Authorities have accused Zhang Zhan of trying to provoke the public with his reporting.
Such provisions are imposed on protesters in China.
Jean, a 37-year-old former lawyer. She was arrested in May and has been on a hunger strike for several months.
Her lawyers say she is unwell.
Zhang Zhan criticized the Wuhan city administration for taking the first steps against the coronavirus.
