Russia and Turkey jointly oppose US sanctions

MOSCOW: Russia and Turkey have announced a joint decision against US sanctions and will continue bilateral cooperation.

According to Russian media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that despite US sanctions on Turkey, bilateral military cooperation between Moscow and Ankara will not be affected.

The United States this month imposed economic sanctions on Turkey over its purchase of the S400 missile defense system from Russia.

Speaking to reporters after talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Moscow on Tuesday, Sergei Lavrov said “We are determined to establish military relations with Turkey despite illegal US pressure.” Confirmed.

On the occasion, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that Turkey wants to develop a Russian-made vaccine Sputnik V for the treatment of Covid 19.

He said Turkey had asked Russia for more information on the vaccine and that Health Minister Fakhruddin Koka had told the presidential cabinet on Monday that all matters were moving in the right direction.
