ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while expressing his desire to increase investment in Pakistan’s energy sector said that increasing cooperation in the energy sector would strengthen economic ties.
According to details, Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub called on UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zabi and discussed the progress of ongoing projects in the petroleum sector.
The Federal Minister for Energy said that Pakistan values cooperation in UAE’s petroleum sector, is being made competitive and efficient to expand the energy market and the government is committed to boosting the energy sector.
The UAE Ambassador said that the UAE was keen to increase investment in Pakistan’s energy sector, adding that increased cooperation in the energy sector would strengthen economic ties.
It may be recalled that in December last year, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had a meeting with the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During the meeting, bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Expressing good wishes to the people on behalf of the Pakistani leadership, the Foreign Minister said that Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have deep bilateral brotherly relations and Pakistan wants to further strengthen bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that millions of Pakistanis are playing their full role in the construction and development of the UAE, next year’s exhibition in Dubai will be a manifestation of decades-long friendship.
During the meeting, it was agreed to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates in the field of agriculture.
