Washington: A young man was killed and several others were injured in a shooting incident at a hotel in the Chicago area of ​​the United States.

According to US media reports, a police officer entered the Indian Lake Hotel in the Allenway area of ​​Chicago and shot dead a young man on the fifth floor, injuring several civilians.

After the incident, Blooming Dale police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the hotel, and launched a final operation. According to media reports, the incident took place at around 2.35 pm.

Several people were injured in the shooting and were taken to a nearby hospital, police said. The shooter was identified as James McGill Junior, 27.

Police shifted the body to a nearby hospital for post-mortem. Authorities also launched an investigation after gathering evidence from the scene. Blooming Dale police officials said the incident was being closely monitored.
